01What to include

For bug reports, a quick description of what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead works wonders. Your iPhone model and iOS version help too. If a food or barcode is wrong, the product name and the barcode number let us check the source data.

02Common questions

I bought Morsel Unlimited on another phone. How do I get it back?
The unlock is tied to your App Store account, not the device. Open Settings in Morsel and tap Restore purchase; it comes back at no charge. If it does not, make sure the phone is signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with.
A barcode says “Not in the database”. What now?
Tap “Add this food”, type the name and the calories from the label (macros are optional), and save. The barcode is attached to your custom food, so every future scan of that package finds it instantly. The bundled database holds over 400,000 branded products, but new and regional items appear every week and no offline database has them all.
Where does the nutrition data come from, and how accurate is it?
Generic foods come from USDA FoodData Central, branded products from Open Food Facts, whose values are contributed from package labels. Labels change and contributors make typos, so if a number looks wrong, trust the package in your hand: log it as a custom food or a quick add with the label values. Morsel deliberately shows calories, protein, carbs and fat only, which are the four values every label carries.
How do I edit or delete something I logged?
Tap the entry on Today or on any past day in History. You can change the portion (or the numbers, for a quick add) or remove it. Past days are fully editable, so a forgotten dinner can be logged the next morning.
How do I move my diary to a new phone?
Morsel stores everything in the app’s local storage, so your diary comes across with a standard iPhone-to-iPhone migration or an iCloud or encrypted backup restore. There is no export-and-import step and no account to sign in to. CSV export (in the unlock) is there if you want a copy for a spreadsheet.
What does Apple Health sync do?
With the unlock and your permission, Morsel writes the calories you log as dietary energy and your weigh-ins as body mass to Apple Health, and can import your weight history from Health. Deleting or editing an entry in Morsel updates only the sample Morsel wrote. Nothing goes anywhere other than the Health app on your phone.
Why can I only create 10 custom foods for free?
That is the one limit in the free tier, and it is on creating library items, never on logging them or on anything you already made. Morsel Unlimited removes it, along with adding saved meals, macro goals, trends, Health sync and CSV export. It is a single purchase, not a subscription.
Can Morsel track water, exercise, fiber or micronutrients?
No, on purpose. Morsel does calories and the three macros and tries to do them excellently. Fiber and sugar are the most requested additions and are on the roadmap for consideration; water, exercise, AI photo logging and diet plans are not.
Where is my data, and how do I delete it?
Everything lives in a local database on your phone and never leaves it. Deleting the app deletes every entry. The only thing we ever receive is an anonymous crash report when the app breaks, which holds none of your entries — see the privacy policy.
I want a refund.
Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the Morsel purchase. Apple decides refund requests; we cannot see or influence them, but we would still like to hear what went wrong.

03Feature requests

Morsel stays deliberately small, but we love hearing what would make it better. The public roadmap lists what has shipped, what is next and what we have decided not to build. If your idea fits the “count calories, pay once” spirit, there is a good chance it makes the list.
